Deadly Alliance was released initially for the Xbox, PlayStation 2 (PS2) and GameCube.ĭeadly Alliance was also the first Mortal Kombat game to feature fully 3D gameplay, where up to Mortal Kombat 4 the gameplay had stayed in a 2D plane this trend would continue for the following two games. It was also at this point that the series started being targeted at consoles only, with Mortal Kombat 4 being the last game in the series to ever be released for the arcades. While to this point Mortal Kombat games were only titled with their installment number, starting with Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance in 2002, the series’ naming scheme changed to favor the use of sub-titles instead.
